GENERAL DESCRIPTION
As the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for all aspects of our company's financial operations and strategic planning. You will also be responsible for building a finance team, developing and implementing financial policies, ensuring compliance, and providing financial leadership to the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining long-term financial strategies and forecasting models to ensure the financial health and growth of the company.
• Responsible for preparing and presenting financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to management.
• Will implement and maintain strong financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and tax laws.
• Responsible for the budgeting process and providing guidance to the business based on forecasting and performance.
• Will build out and manage the finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to team members.
• Will manage cash flow, capital investments, and treasury operations to optimize liquidity and minimize risk.
• Will identify, assess, and provide recommendations to executive leadership to mitigate financial risks, including insurance and financial compliance risks.
• Will collaborate with other departments and executive leadership to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives.
• Responsible for providing strategic direction to family and executive team on decisions related to investments, acquisitions, estate planning, and other financial matters.
SKILLS REQUIRED
• Proven experience as a manager or similar leadership role in a related industry
• Experience in planning and budgeting
• Strong understanding of business process and functions
• Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), a plus
• Proven ability to build out and manage a finance team
• Knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
• Excellence with MS Office (Excel, Word, Etc.) and various business software (e.g. ERP, CRM)
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
• Aptitude in decision-making and problem solving
• Ability to be hands-on in the business
• Excellent writing skills
EDUCATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA or masters required
• Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in Finance, distribution, or operations
